I've been practicing yoga for almost 9 years and have been through countless mats in my time.  The thought has always occured to me, am I just a mass consumer of environmentally unfriendly products?  That was until I discovered EcoWise mats.  I worried that it wouldn't hold up to the amount of usage as my old standby's but I have been pleasantly surprised. I've had it for almost 6 months and it's held up longer than mats I've paid over 80 dollars for. I can also rest assured I'm not breathing any harmful chemicals from my mat.  I'm a convert.
