Philips Hue Connected Bulb

How does this technology work? Everything is wireless but you control every (?) light in the house? Does something go into every light socket? What about the kitchen lights where everything is in the wall (i.e. no sockets -- just 2 switches). Looks expensive too. Starter kit is $158 at AMZ.

Pricey is right. Great product though. I've seen starter kits cheaper. Look around.
